There are several different semiconductor technologies that are currently being discussed for 6G. All of these technologies come with their own benefits, and 6G will likely use a combination of at least two of them. New semiconductors will need to be capable of transmitting data at very high speeds - at least 100 Gbit per second. They will also need be extremely energy efficient and have minimal latency for instant, immersive connectivity.
The main challenge of semiconductor technology is acquiring quality materials. A high level of precision and meticulous defect control during manufacturing processes are key.
