The technical report (TR) describes the best practices for robust network QoS benchmark testing and scoring. It is the result of intensive discussions among network operators, technology vendors, service providers, and measurement equipment manufacturers such as Rohde & Schwarz.

Operators wishing to test the quality and performance of 5G NR mobile networks using commercially available UEs including the Samsung S10 5G can do so now using Rohde & Schwarz mobile network testing solutions such as the R&S®QualiPoc Android smartphone-based optimizer, R&S®ROMES4 universal network measurement software or R&S®SmartBenchmarker network benchmarking software. The communications uplink is more susceptible to interference than the downlink. In FDD networks, it is easy to concentrate on the frequency range allocated to the uplink and, either with a spectrum analyzer or a portable receiver, identify and locate the source of interference. In TDD networks, the downlink and the uplink use the same frequency, meaning that downlink signals mask the uplink and any other present signals.
